Terms of Service

Last updated: October 23, 2025

Welcome to RSVP Events (“we”, “us”, “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and services for creating, managing, and responding to event invitations (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

Plain-English summary for clarity; this is still a legally binding agreement.

1. Overview & Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create events. If you are responding to an invitation, you must meet the digital age of consent in your country (13-16 in the EEA). You’re responsible for the accuracy of information you provide and for keeping your event settings appropriate for your audience.

The Service is currently provided free of charge. If we introduce paid features, we will clearly disclose pricing, billing terms, and any applicable withdrawal/refund rights before you purchase.

2. Organizer vs. Participant

  • Organizer: creates/manages events and receives RSVP information from invitees. Organizers must comply with applicable laws (e.g., privacy and e-mail/spam rules).
  • Participant: responds to invitations. We show your RSVP details (e.g., name, status) to the organizer.
  • See the controller/processor notice for how we handle data between organizers and participants.

3. Events, Content & Ownership

You own your event content (titles, descriptions, cover images) and remain responsible for it. You grant us a limited license to host, display, and transmit your content as needed to provide the Service (e.g., showing the event to invitees).

  • No illegal, harmful, hateful, harassing, or infringing content.
  • No doxxing or sharing personal data without proper consent.
  • Respect others’ IP rights; only upload content you have rights to use.

5. Acceptable Use & Anti-Spam

  • No unsolicited mass invitations or spam. Follow e-mail/SMS rules (e.g., consent, opt-out).
  • No scraping, rate-limit evasion, automated abuse, or security testing without permission.
  • We may throttle, block, remove events, or suspend accounts to protect the Service and users.

6. Accounts & Google Authentication

Creating an account is optional for participants. Organizers typically need an account to manage events. We use Google sign-in (OAuth) as the only authentication method. Keep credentials and devices secure and notify us of any suspected compromise. Accounts may be closed if inactive or if these Terms are violated. Where practicable, we will give you notice and an opportunity to address the issue, unless doing so would create a security or legal risk.

7. Privacy & Data Processing

Our data practices are explained in our Privacy Policy. We process personal data under the legal bases described there, and we only ask for consent where required (for example, analytics). For organizers, a Data Processing Addendum (DPA) is available upon request if you are subject to GDPR/UK GDPR. Contact invit.social@gmail.com.

8. Third-Party Services

  • Supabase (database & auth token management)
  • Google (sign-in provider via OAuth; we do not get your Google password)
  • Hetzner Cloud (EU hosting/compute)
  • Coolify (self-hosted orchestration on our Hetzner infrastructure)
  • PostHog (product analytics; only runs with consent if enabled)
  • Email (SMTP or third-party transactional e-mail, if configured)
  • Google Calendar (optional calendar link you choose to use)

We may update subprocessors as our Service evolves. See the Privacy Policy for current details.

9. Intellectual Property

Our trademarks, brand, code, and design are our property. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the Service except as permitted by law and these Terms.

10. Availability & Changes

We strive for reliable uptime, but the Service may be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or issues beyond our control. Features may change or be discontinued.

11. Warranties & Liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties (express or implied) and limit our liability for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or loss of data, profits, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of €50 or the amount you paid us in the 3 months prior to the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, or where prohibited by law. If you are a consumer in the EEA/UK, nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and your statutory rights are not affected.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from claims, liabilities, damages, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law. This indemnity does not apply to consumers in the EEA/UK to the extent prohibited by law.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Athens, Greece, unless a mandatory law provides otherwise. If you are a consumer in the EEA/UK, you may bring claims in your country of residence and mandatory consumer protections apply.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in our Service or the law. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you via e-mail or in-app notice. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
